Barrack Vows Swift Justice for Attack on U.S. Personnel in Syria

Beirut: U.S. Special Envoy to Syria Tom Barrack has underscored a resolute commitment to eliminate ISIS following a fatal terrorist ambush on American personnel. Barrack emphasized that any attack on Americans will face swift and unrelenting justice, reiterating the country's determination to eradicate terrorism.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Barrack took to his "X" account to express his condemnation of the attack, which resulted in the deaths of two American soldiers and a civilian interpreter. He described the incident as a stark reminder of the persistent threat posed by terrorism, capable of striking even as efforts to combat it continue.

Barrack highlighted that U.S. forces remain in Syria with the sole mission of defeating ISIS, preventing its resurgence, and safeguarding the American homeland from terrorist threats. He stressed that the presence of U.S. forces empowers local Syrian partners in their fight against these terrorists, thus avoiding the necessity for another large-scale Middle Eastern conflict.

The envoy asserted that alongside the Syrian Government, the U.S. will pursue all individuals involved in the attack, ensuring accountability through decisive action. He reiterated President Trump's stance that threats to Americans will not be tolerated, and those responsible will face consequences.

Barrack also acknowledged Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa's commitment to identifying and holding accountable the perpetrators, expressing a shared resolve to eradicate terrorism in Syria.
