Bassil Marks October 13 Anniversary in Paris, Criticizes ‘October 17 Coup’

Paris: Free Patriotic Movement chief, Gebran Bassil, marked the 35th anniversary of October 13 during a gathering with the Lebanese diaspora in Paris, organized by the ‘Gathering for Lebanon.’

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Bassil said the event reaffirms ‘our loyalty to the martyrs and our commitment to the cause.’

Bassil contrasted the ‘principled struggle of October 13’ with what he described as the ‘coup of October 17, 2019,’ accusing its backers of bankrupting Lebanon.

Bassil stressed that the FPM remains ‘Lebanon’s sole reformist force,’ calling for accountability, financial recovery, and the repatriation of depositors’ funds.
