Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri met with UK Defence Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa, Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren, at the second presidency headquarters in Ain El Tineh. The meeting was attended by an accompanying military delegation and British Ambassador to Lebanon, Hamish Cowell.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussion focused on the latest developments in Lebanon and the broader region, covering political and field updates. The meeting highlighted ongoing dialogues between Lebanon and the UK regarding regional stability and security matters.
In a separate statement, Speaker Berri extended his congratulations to the Lebanese people and the Muslim and Arab nations on the occasion of the new Hijri year and the Ashura commemoration. He expressed hope that these occasions would strengthen values of sacrifice, patience, faith, reform, integrity, and unity among people. Berri called for a revival of related ceremonies to enhance unity and preserve the spiritual, human, and moral messages associated with these events.
