Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri extended greetings to the Lebanese people as they observe the holy month of Ramadan and the beginning of Lent for Christian communities. He expressed his warmest congratulations and best wishes to all Lebanese, both Muslims and Christians, emphasizing the shared values of mercy, solidarity, patience, and mutual support. Berri highlighted the importance of these values being a permanent bond in the daily actions and behavior of the Lebanese people, aiming to safeguard the dignity of every individual and the nation.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Berri addressed the residents of the southern border villages, acknowledging their resilience amidst ongoing challenges. He paid tribute to the families in areas such as Naqoura, the Arqoub highlands, and the districts of Hasbaya and Marjayoun, recognizing both the displaced and those who remain in their homes. Berri noted the heightened Israeli aggression, including the occupation and targeting of civilians, exemplified by the tragic loss of Ali Hassan Jaber. He praised the steadfastness and patience of the border villagers during Ramadan and their observance of the holy month despite adversity, considering these acts as true embodiments of national belonging and expressions of faith in God, land, and humanity.
