Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri on Tuesday welcomed the Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Waleed Bukari, at the second presidency headquarters in Ain al-Tineh. Bukari's visit was a farewell gesture as he concluded his diplomatic mission in the country. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the current general situation and the bilateral relations between Lebanon and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Berri also received Sri Lankan Ambassador Anura Withanage, who was on a courtesy visit following his assumption of diplomatic duties in Lebanon. Their discussion focused on the general situation and the bilateral relations between Lebanon and Sri Lanka.
Later, Speaker Berri met with Minister of National Education and Higher Education, Rima Karami. They discussed the general situation and recent developments, especially concerning Israel's ongoing aggression against Lebanon and the South and its impact on the educational sector. Minister Karami provided insights into the ministry's plans and programs for the current phase.
Additionally, Berri engaged in discussions with Vice Speaker Elias Bou Saab. Their conversation centered on the latest political and field developments, as well as legislative affairs, with particular emphasis on the progress of discussions regarding the general amnesty draft law.
