Berri Engages in High-Level Discussions Amid Heightened Tensions

Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri convened with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam in Ain al-Tineh to deliberate on issues affecting Lebanon, notably the ongoing Israeli breaches of the ceasefire agreement. The discussions also addressed attacks on southern Lebanon and the western Bekaa, alongside the displacement crisis impacting the region.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Berri also met with former Deputy Speaker Elie Ferzli. Despite the persistent attacks, Ferzli conveyed Berri's optimism about the situation, emphasizing the importance of Lebanese unity and civil peace. Ferzli highlighted these elements as crucial for reestablishing sovereignty, ensuring a complete Israeli withdrawal, and revitalizing constitutional processes.

In a separate meeting, Berri engaged with Central Bank Governor Karim Said to evaluate Lebanon's financial and monetary conditions. Additionally, Berri met with Democratic Gathering bloc secretary MP Hadi Abou al-Hosn to discuss matters related to political and legislative affairs.
