Bahrain: Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is gearing up for an eventful weekend as it hosts the fourth round of National Race Day this Saturday. 'The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East' will feature a thrilling double-header, showcasing two of the Kingdom's most competitive local championships on the 2.554-kilometre Inner Track.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the event will highlight the Bahrain Touring Car Challenge (BTCC) and Time Attack, with races scheduled both during the day and under lights. This weekend's National Race Day will occur shortly after the conclusion of the third round of the 2025/2026 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship on BIC's quarter-mile drag strip, marking a busy start to the new year for the circuit.
National Race Day is organized and run by BIC in collaboration with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Circuit Racing Commission, and the Bahrain Auto X and Drift Commission. The action will commence at 10.20am and continue until past 6pm, culminating in the podium ceremonies for both BTCC and Time Attack at 6.30pm.
The event is open to the public, with tickets priced at BD2 for adults and BD1 for children. Tickets can be purchased online at bahraingp.com, via the BIC Hotline at +973-17450000, or at the gate. Spectators can watch from BIC's Beyon Grandstand, which offers views of key circuit sections, including the Inner Straight, where the start and finish lines are located.
The BTCC field will conduct their practice session at 11.35am, followed by qualifying at 1.25pm. The first of two 15-lap races will start at 3.14pm, with the second race at 5.44pm. Ali Almansoori, who has won all six races so far this season in his Honda Civic, is expected to headline the BTCC field.
Time Attack will feature various categories such as SU, UL, MA, SA, MB, and SB. Time Attack practices begin at 10.20am, with heat one for the SU, UL, and MA classes at 12.40pm. The first heat for SA, MB, and SB categories will start at 2pm, followed by heat two for all categories at 3.50pm.
BIC's 2025/2026 racing calendar includes seven rounds of National Race Day. After this weekend, round five will take place on 6 February, followed by the sixth round on 13 March, leading to the grand finale on April 24.
