Bkerke: Patriarch Mar Bechara Boutros al-Rahi blessed the second edition of the "Maha and Fahim Al-Jamil Foundation Award for Liturgical Studies" during a ceremony in Bkerke attended by bishops, clergy, the family of Bishop Boutros Al-Jamil, and various religious and cultural figures.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the event included a prayer, a communal meal, and the presentation of financial grants to four clerics and lay researchers in support of their studies in liturgical research. Church leaders highlighted the importance of liturgical studies as a key pillar of Maronite identity, tradition, and spiritual life, while stressing the need to further develop this field of research.
The initiative, which honors the memory of Bishop Boutros Al-Jamil, aims to encourage serious academic work in Eastern Christian liturgy and will be awarded annually to outstanding monks, scholars, and researchers.
