Coordination with Saudi Arabia Leads to Major Captagon Warehouse Seizure

Beirut: Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar announced on the ministry's "X" platform that effective coordination and intelligence-sharing with Saudi authorities significantly contributed to the successful seizure of a Captagon warehouse. The minister praised the vigilance and efficiency of the Interior and Municipalities Ministry in disrupting drug smuggling networks through diligent investigative work and swift responses.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Al-Hajjar highlighted the supportive role of cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Interior Ministry in this security achievement. He emphasized the mutual commitment of both nations to safeguard their societies from the dangers of drugs. The minister also lauded the Central Drug Enforcement Bureau in the Judicial Police Unit of the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces for their efforts, which were based on precise intelligence from the Saudi Ministry of Interior's General Directorate of Drug Enforcement. This collaboration led to the discovery of a substantial quantity of Captagon pills concealed in a warehouse in the Jiyyeh area, resulting in the seizure of the drugs and the arrest of several individuals, including the network's mastermind.

Al-Hajjar described the operation as a testament to the trust and coordination between Lebanon and Saudi Arabia. He noted that the measures implemented by Lebanese security services have strengthened bilateral trust and facilitated the resumption of Lebanese exports to Saudi Arabia.
