Beirut: Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Abdallah Bou Habib, on Tuesday received a phone call from Japan's Foreign Minister, Takeshi Iwaya, to discuss efforts aimed at halting the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon. Minister Bou Habib expressed appreciation for Japan's support towards Lebanon and peace, underscoring Japan's commitment to diplomatic solutions, financial contributions to the recent Paris Conference, and its collaborative role with other nations to achieve a ceasefire at the UN Security Council. According to National news agency - Lebanon, Bou Habib also thanked Japan for its humanitarian efforts in Lebanon, particularly the assistance provided to the Lebanese people. He reiterated Lebanon's commitment to implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701. In response, Minister Iwaya emphasized Japan's dedication to the security and safety of UNIFIL and the necessity of de-escalating tensions in Lebanon and the region. The Japanese Foreign Minister further announced J apan's intention to provide additional aid to displaced persons in Lebanon.
