Beirut: Deputy Speaker Elias Bou Saab met with British Ambassador Hamish Cowell to discuss reform laws that have been passed or are currently under review in Parliament. Cowell emphasized that Lebanon has a significant opportunity to regain international trust, and noted that implementing these reforms would be instrumental in achieving this goal.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Bou Saab highlighted that Speaker Nabih Berri has called for an extraordinary session to fast-track key legislation. He stressed the importance of the government submitting the financial gap law so that Parliament can pass it alongside the banking restructuring law. Furthermore, Bou Saab sought support from the United Kingdom, along with France and the United States, to apply pressure on Israel to comply with the ceasefire agreement. Additionally, Bou Saab held discussions with staff from the Information Ministry.
