Cabinet Convenes in Baabda to Discuss Key Appointments and Security Recruitment

Baabda: The Cabinet on Thursday convened at Baabda Palace, chaired by President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, and attended by Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, along with the ministers. The session's agenda included 20 items, with a primary focus on key appointments and security recruitment.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Item 10, titled 'Various Appointments', was one of the most significant agenda points. It involves the naming of two Vice Presidents of the Council for Development and Reconstruction, a Secretary-General, a Government Commissioner, and a Director General of Ogero Telecom. Other important items on the agenda included a request to enlist 36 officer cadets for State Security and General Security. Additionally, the session aimed to approve various agreements, amend articles in specific laws, pass financial decrees, accept grants, and address administrative and procedural issues.

President Aoun was expected to brief the Cabinet on his discussions with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Moreover, Prime Minister Salam planned to share the outcomes of his recent visit to the United Arab Emirates. The session was preceded by a meeting between Presidents Aoun and Salam to review recent developments and general affairs.
