Lebanese Ministers Host Events Across Beirut Addressing Health, Justice, and Culture

Beirut: A series of significant events took place across Beirut, encompassing various sectors from health to culture and justice. The day began with a briefing hosted by the Minister of State for Administrative Reform, Fadi Makki, at the Ministry's main hall in Starco, focusing on the appointment mechanism.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, H´tel-Dieu de France Hospital organized an awareness day on the dangers of smoking in the hospital garden, under the patronage of Health Minister Rakan Nasreddine, to mark World No Tobacco Day. Concurrently, Justice Minister Adel Nassar met with UN Special Coordinator Jeanine Hennis at the ministry, highlighting continued collaboration with international bodies.

At 10:00 am, a cultural day titled 'Harvest of Seasons' was held by the Lebanese University - Faculty of Media, under the patronage of Information Minister Paul Morcos, in Bouchrieh. This was followed by a press conference by the Lebanese Observatory for Workers' Rights at Radisson Blu - Verdun, addressing issues within the labor judiciary system.

Minister Rakan Nasreddine later inaugurated the 31st Lebanese Ophthalmologists' Conference at the Phoenicia Hotel. Simultaneously, LAU Libraries presented a newly curated collection of over 6,500 works on Lebanon at the Jbeil campus, an event attended by Tourism Minister Laura Khazen Lahoud. The day also saw Information Minister Paul Morcos signing a 2025 action plan with UNICEF.

In the realm of local governance, an election for the president and vice president of the Jbeil Municipal Union took place at the Qaimaqam's office. The day concluded with several cultural and educational ceremonies, including the honoring of political thinker Dr. Nabil Khalifeh by the Lebanese Forces, and graduation ceremonies at Saint George University of Beirut and the American University of Beirut, attended by notable figures from the educational and political sectors.
