Beirut: The Minister of Culture, Dr. Ghassan Salameh, met in his office at the Sanayeh National Library with the President of Notre Dame University, Father Bechara Khoury, accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Dr. Maria Abou Zeid, and the Head of the Department of Media and Communication, Dr. Joseph Hosni. Several joint projects between the ministry and the university were discussed, including the film restoration project.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, after the meeting, Mr. Khoury stated: “As part of the project to restore all the films from the Baalbeck Studio and others, and especially given that the university has a laboratory dedicated to restoration and reconditioning, we presented several projects. We also invited him to sponsor and participate in the 18th Annual Film Festival, organized by the University of Notre Dame. This festival, entitled ‘From Youth to Heritage,’ highlights the creativity of young people.” He added, “We hope that the partnership between the public and private sectors will be exemplary, as is the case between us and the Ministry of Culture. The objective is not to establish a partnership, but rather to preserve intellectual heritage. We are honored to belong to such a civilization, particularly thanks to the tireless work of Minister Salam©, whom we thank.”
