Dajani: Maestro Muti’s concert will contribute to strengthening cultural, tourism presence of Jordan

The head of the Jordan-Italian Cooperation Forum (JIFCO), Shermin Dajani, said in an interview Tuesday at the Ministry of Culture that the orchestral concert led by the Italian international Maestro Riccardo Muti would be held with the participation of the Cherubini Choir and Orchestra in Jerash.

Dajani said the concert would raise Jordan’s cultural and tourism status and promote it globally.

Dajani noted that the ceremony, organised by JIFCO, in partnership with the Ministries of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, and the Tourism Promotion Authority, would be held on July 9 at the southern amphitheatre of Jerash.

She added that the musical event is “one of the most prominent initiatives” to promote friendship and communication between people.

She explained that nine young Jordanian musicians would participate in the concert: Zain Awad, Uday Naber and Syrian artists Mirna Qassis and Rizk Bitar.
