Beirut: Caretaker Economy Minister, Amin Salam, on Thursday visited Metropolitan Elias Audeh of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Beirut, where he emphasized the importance of unity amidst Lebanon's ongoing challenges. Salam's visit underscored the need for solidarity among all sects and political affiliations as a means to rescue the nation and capitalize on opportunities for national cohesion. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Salam expressed his support for Speaker Nabih Berri's initiative to convene a presidential election session on January 9. He described this move as a pivotal step toward reestablishing state order. The Economy Minister highlighted the pressing need for electing a new president, which he believes is essential for regaining international trust and securing Lebanon's strategic role in regional reconstruction and negotiations.
