Egypt 2025 Senate Elections: Overseas Voting Kicks Off Friday in 117 Countries

Cairo: The two-day voting process will be followed by two days of domestic voting, starting Monday, 4 August. The first polling stations to open abroad will be located in New Zealand, starting at 12am Cairo time on Thursday night due to time zone differences.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the timeline represents the official procedures for the Senate elections for the second legislative term 2025-2030, as detailed by the National Election Authority (NEA). The overseas voting process marks the beginning of the electoral activities for Egyptians living outside the country, providing them with the opportunity to participate in shaping their legislative body.

The NEA has outlined that after the overseas voting concludes, domestic voting will commence on Monday, ensuring that all eligible voters have the chance to cast their ballots. This sequence reflects the NEA's commitment to conducting a comprehensive and inclusive election process, catering to both citizens abroad and those residing within Egypt.
