Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah El-Din discussed in a meeting with Tatarstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Korobchenko ways of fostering bilateral cooperation in military manufacturing.
Salah El-Din said Tatarstan's companies can make the best use of the promising investment opportunities in the country, especially in light of the free trade agreements that Egypt signed with a number of African and Arab countries, allowing Tatarstan's products to enter the markets of Africa and the Middle East.
The military production minister briefed Tatarstan's industry minister on the manufacturing, technical and technological capabilities of military production companies that manufacture ammunition, weapons and equipment for the Egyptian Armed Forces, in addition to making civilian products.
Salah El-Din stated he probed with Korobchenko the possibility of opening up new horizons for cooperation between Egyptian military production companies and their counterparts in Tatarstan in different manufacturing areas.
The military production minister invited Tatarstan's companies to take part in the 3rd edition of Egypt Defence Expo (EDEX 2023).
On his part, Tatarstan's trade minister said this meeting comes within the framework of his country's keenness to establish a mechanism for fruitful economic cooperation with Egypt, hailing Cairo's pivotal and influential role at the regional and international levels.
Korobchenko explained Tatarstan, which is one of the Russian Federation's regions, has great potential and experience in manufacturing agricultural machinery, trucks, cars, petrochemicals, medicines and helicopters.
He praised the momentum in Egyptian-Russian ties in recent years, saying many of Tatarstan's companies look forward to advancing cooperation with Egyptian companies, notably those working in the military production sector.
