The Egyptian Ministry of Defense announced on Friday 8/3/2024 the conclusion of the Egyptian-Pakistani joint military exercises (Raad - 1), as stated in a press release. Over several days, military personnel from the Egyptian Parachute and Thunderbolt Forces, alongside their counterparts from the Pakistani Special Forces, participated in the exercises held in Egypt. The culmination of the exercises involved simulated operations to secure a border village and eliminate armed terrorist elements, employing techniques such as free-jumping and air strikes executed by Special Forces members from both sides. During the closing ceremony, Major General AH Mohamed Mahmoud Awad, Commander of the Parachute Forces, conveyed the General Command of the Armed Forces' appreciation to all participating personnel. He emphasized the importance of such joint exercises in facilitating the exchange of experiences and enhancing proficiency in combat training for Special Forces. Major General Awad commended the readiness and eff ectiveness demonstrated by the participating units in carrying out collaborative operations. Notable attendees at the closing ceremony included high-ranking commanders from the Egyptian and Pakistani armed forces, as well as the Pakistani military attaché in Cairo.
