Eleven MPs to Challenge 2025 Budget Decree in Constitutional Council

Beirut: Eleven Members of Parliament are set to appeal to the Constitutional Council against the decree issuing the 2025 budget tomorrow. The MPs, including Paula Yacoubian, Melhem Khalaf, Najat Aoun Saliba, Firas Hamdan, Adeeb Abdel Massih, Bilal Hocheimi, Melhem Tawk, Adnan Traboulsi, Taha Naji, Ibrahim Mneimneh, and Tony Frangieh, plan to file the appeal at 1:00 pm.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the MPs are opposing the budget decree due to what they describe as numerous constitutional violations in its issuance process and content. The decree has been criticized for imposing significant tax burdens, prompting the MPs to take action through the Constitutional Council.
