Brussels: European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced on Saturday that Europe stands in solidarity with the Iranian popular protests and denounces the "violent repression" faced by demonstrators.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, von der Leyen emphasized Europe's support in a statement, saying: "The steps taken by Iranian women and men demanding freedom are resonating in the streets of Tehran and in cities around the world."
She further highlighted the importance of fundamental rights, stating: "Freedom of speech, freedom of assembly, freedom of movement, and above all, the right to live freely. Europe fully supports them."
