Euro Zone GDP Growth Increases by 0.4 Pct in Q3, 2024.

Brussels: The European Statistics Office (Eurostat) announced on Wednesday that the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the Euro zone rose by 0.4 percent in the third quarter of 2024 and by 0.3 percent in the EU compared to the previous quarter. According to Kuwait News Agency, this information was released in a press statement that highlighted the preliminary nature of these estimates, which are based on incomplete data sources and may be revised in the future. In the second quarter of 2024, the GDP grew by 0.2 percent in the Euro area and by 0.3 percent in the EU, according to these initial estimates. The office also reported that the seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 0.9 percent in both the Euro zone and the EU in the third quarter of 2024. This follows growth rates of a 0.6 percent increase in the Euro zone and a 0.8 percent increase in the EU during the previous quarter. Among the member states with available data for the third quarter of 2024, Ireland recorded the highest increase at 2.0 percent compa red to the previous quarter. This was followed by Lithuania with a 1.1 percent increase and Spain with a 0.8 percent increase. Conversely, declines were recorded in Hungary with a 0.7 percent decrease, Latvia with a 0.4 percent decrease, and Sweden with a 0.1 percent decrease. The year-on-year growth rates showed positive figures for seven countries and negative figures for six.
