Beirut: The Parliament's Finance and Budget Committee on Wednesday convened under the chairmanship of MP Ibrahim Kanaan, with the participation of Finance Minister Yassine Jaber, to discuss the proposed law on a fair settlement of end-of-service indemnities in the National Social Security Fund (NSSF).
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting focused on evaluating the proposed legislation aimed at ensuring a fair resolution of indemnities for retiring employees covered by the NSSF. The committee's discussions are part of ongoing efforts to address longstanding issues related to the financial entitlements of employees at the end of their service.
The proposal is expected to provide a structured mechanism to settle indemnity payments, which have been a concern for both employees and employers. The Finance and Budget Committee's review is a critical step in the legislative process, aiming to ensure that the proposed law meets the financial and social needs of the stakeholders involved.
