BEIRUT: An Israeli airstrike on a residential building in the Dahieh district of Beirut, the Lebanese capital, resulted in the murder of five children and several others injured today, according to local and media sources. The Lebanese National News Agency reported that the attack involved an F-35 fighter jet, which launched two missiles targeting an apartment in the Jamous area. Emergency services and civil defense teams rushed to the scene to assist the wounded, as the Lebanese army secured the area. The airstrike occurred during peak hours, leading to significant civilian casualties, with the current toll standing at five children confirmed dead. According to reports, the targeted building near the Al-Qaim complex was hit by four missiles, causing extensive damage to the apartment and surrounding units, as well as to parked vehicles. Ambulances continued to transport casualties from the scene, highlighting the grave humanitarian impact of the attack. Last week, hand-held communication devices exploded across Lebanon and in the southern suburbs of the capital, Beirut, in an apparent attack attributed to the Israeli occupation.
