Beirut: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Youssef Raggi, on Tuesday engaged in a series of phone calls with several regional and international counterparts. These calls included discussions with the foreign ministers of Oman, the United Kingdom, Bulgaria, and Canada, as well as the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Jasem Albudaiwi. This initiative is part of an intensive diplomatic outreach effort aimed at addressing the escalating tensions in the region.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussions primarily focused on the latest field and political developments in Lebanon. Minister Raggi provided his counterparts with details about the recent decision made by the Council of Ministers during an extraordinary session. This decision involves banning Hezbollah's military and security activities, mandating the group to surrender its weapons, and assigning the Lebanese Army to commence the second phase of the arms-control plan.
The talks also emphasized the urgent need to halt the Israeli escalation and discussed measures necessary to protect Lebanese civilians and public facilities amidst the current volatile circumstances.
