Foreign Ministry says following up on conditions of Egyptians in eastern Libya

The Foreign Ministry said Friday 15/09/2023 it is following up on the conditions of Egyptians in eastern Libya, which was hit by devastating floods caused by Storm Daniel.

In a statement, the ministry stated the Egyptian Consulate in Benghazi is making contacts with hospitals in Benghazi, Al Bayda, Tobruk, Umm Al-Razm, Martouba and Shiha to keep abreast of the situation of Egyptian expats in those affected cities and districts in eastern Libya.

The ministry noted the consulate is coordinating with the relevant Libyan authorities and Egyptian support teams to provide assistance for the survivors and inquire after the injured who arrived at hospitals in Benghazi.

The ministry explained the consulate is coordinating with Egyptian ambulance teams to rescue Egyptian survivors and bring them home.

The consulate is working to issue immediate travel documents for Egyptian survivors who wish to return to the country.

The ministry appealed to Egyptians in eastern Libya to move away from the affected areas for fear of the outbreak of diseases and epidemics.
