Gaza: The Palestinian Red Crescent Society receives a diplomatic delegation

The Palestine Red Crescent Society received at its headquarters in Gaza, today, Tuesday, a diplomatic delegation, which included the United Nations Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator, Lynn Hastings, along with a number of ambassadors, diplomats, and United Nations officials for humanitarian affairs, in order to learn about the Society’s services and the challenges facing it. Its work coincides with the activities of World Humanity Day.

The visiting delegation was received by Dr. Younis Al-Khatib, President of the Association, and a number of the Association’s directors in the southern governorates, where they held a meeting in the Association’s central communication unit.

Dr. Bashar Murad, Executive Director of the Association in the Southern Governorates, spoke about the most important services that are provided, in addition to reviewing the most important challenges.

The members of the visiting delegation also watched a video that included the association’s response during times of emergency, and reviewed the most important achievements, aspirations and challenges. They then listened to success stories of a number of workers in the field of ambulance and emergency services, and disaster management and response in the association.

The diplomatic delegation viewed a number of pictures that included some of the health, emergency, and relief services, and Israeli violations against the working crews while performing their humanitarian duty. The delegation also viewed the tools used by the ambulance, disaster, and mental health crews while they provided a helping hand to the affected groups, which included ambulance bags, The National Disaster Response Team, psychological first aid, and a number of assistance are provided.

It is worth noting that this visit comes within the framework of joint coordination and cooperation between the Palestine Red Crescent Society, its friends and partners in the international community, and the international movement, in order to inform them of the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and the nature of the health and humanitarian services provided by the Society’s crews, and with the aim of cooperation to develop these services. capabilities, and overcoming challenges in order to provide services to the fullest extent
