GCC and UK Officials Deliberate on Strengthening Bilateral Relations and Regional Stability

RIYADH: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary General Jassem Al-Budaiwi and UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa Hamish Falconer convened late Thursday to discuss enhancing bilateral ties and address pressing regional issues. The meeting underscored the ongoing negotiations for a free trade agreement between the GCC and the United Kingdom, alongside pivotal developments in the Middle East. According to Kuwait News Agency, the discussions between the two officials also addressed the grave situation in Gaza, emphasizing the serious Israeli occupation violations against civilians. The dialogue highlighted the broader implications of the crisis on regional and global security and stability. The GCC General Secretariat, in a statement released on Friday, detailed the commitment of both parties to facilitate humanitarian aid entry into Gaza, affirming the necessity of resolving the crisis in line with relevant United Nations resolutions. The meeting also explored strategies to overcome reg ional challenges and enhance stability and security across the region. Both sides reiterated their dedication to fostering a cooperative relationship that supports peace and prosperity, while also taking into account the importance of international cooperation in addressing these complex issues.
