Beirut: Lebanese Forces party leader Samir Geagea addressed an open letter to the country's three leaders, emphasizing to the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister that "there is no reason or justification for the delay in disbanding Hezbollah's military and security wings, following the Cabinet's decisions of August 5th and 7th."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Geagea stressed that he was not speaking "from a position of hostility or rivalry, but rather from the perspective of a Lebanese citizen deeply concerned for his country and the future of its generations."
Geagea highlighted the need for a clear political declaration to be reiterated daily, both publicly and in closed meetings, to be followed by clear political and administrative steps to put an end to these flagrant practices.
Addressing House Speaker Nabih Berri, Geagea said: 'We have always communicated with frankness and respect, but what you are doing regarding the election law has crossed all boundaries. Have mercy on the Parliament, the government, and all Lebanese people by stopping the obstruction, by referring everything related to the election law to the General Assembly as soon as possible so that it can make the appropriate decision.'
Geagea's words came during the party's first general conference held under his patronage, which was attended by MPs from the 'Strong Republic' bloc, members of the executive body, the party's Secretary-General Emile Mkarzel, party officials, and dignitaries from Lebanon and various Arab and foreign countries.
