Beirut: Lebanese Forces Party Chief Samir Geagea welcomed the arrival of Pope Leo XIV to the Lebanese capital, Beirut, and expressed his hopes for peace and renewal in the country. Geagea penned a message on 'X', stating: "A warm welcome to the Supreme Pontiff Leo XIV...May your visit be a blessing and an end to the last wars and chapters of pain and suffering in Lebanon, so that it may be worthy of resurrection and regain its glory as a homeland of freedom and pluralism and a fully sovereign state. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."
