Head of the Kataeb Party, MP Sami Gemayel, told Al-Hurra TV that the latest clashes that erupted inside the Palestinian refugee camp of Ain-el-Hilwe are a “natural consequence” of the presence of “armed Lebanese and non-Lebanese militias on the Lebanese soil.” According to Gemayel, Hezbollah bears responsibility for the recent events in the camp. “Hezbollah is responsible for two reasons: the first is that (Hezbollah) prevents the establishing of the state,” he said. “The second,” he continued, “is that (Hezbollah) is involved in the conflict between the Palestinian factions; it backs some of them in Palestine and coordinates with some others in Lebanon.” “The state is absent, and Hezbollah and the House Speaker are making decisions and negotiating in the name of the Lebanese, just like what happened in the border demarcation file,” said Gemayel.
