Baalbek-Hermel:Lebanon faces significant regional shifts and broader confrontations, according to Baalbek-Hermel parliamentary bloc head and Loyalty to the Resistance MP Hussein Haj Hassan. He criticized those who depend on US support, accusing them of benefiting from actions he claims are backed by Washington and Israel.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, during a Hezbollah memorial ceremony, Haj Hassan emphasized that the main confrontation is against "US hegemony and Israeli expansion" in the region. He cited developments in Syria as evidence of the limitations of relying solely on negotiations, referencing Israeli officials' positions on territorial issues.
Haj Hassan urged Lebanese political forces to prioritize genuine sovereignty, national unity, and internal dialogue. He called for engagement with Hezbollah rather than depending on the United States.
He also questioned the effectiveness of government and state institutions since the last war in facilitating the return of displaced residents and providing reconstruction, housing assistance, and support for families affected by the conflict.
Haj Hassan clarified that his remarks were meant as political accountability, emphasizing that state institutions should focus on addressing the needs of communities impacted by Israeli military actions through tangible support measures rather than mere rhetoric.
