GAZA CITY: The head of Hamas' political bureau in Gaza, Khalil al-Hayya, announced the death of Yahya Sinwar, the leader of the Hamas movement in Gaza, during a military confrontation with Israeli forces. The announcement came on Friday, marking a significant moment in the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel. According to Maan News Agency, al-Hayya addressed the public in a televised speech, describing Sinwar's continuous contribution to the movement following his release from prison. Al-Hayya paid tribute to Sinwar, stating that his commitment remained unwavering until his death, which he metaphorically described as being "filled with the great flood of Al-Aqsa." Al-Hayya reaffirmed Hamas' commitment to its goals, which include the establishment of a Palestinian state encompassing all Palestinian territories, with Jerusalem as its capital. He emphasized that the return of Israeli prisoners held by Hamas is contingent upon the cessation of Israeli aggression on Gaza, a complete withdrawal from the reg ion, and the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails. The death of Sinwar marks a pivotal point in the conflict, as he was a key figure in Hamas' leadership, known for his stringent stance against Israel and his role in orchestrating military strategies within Gaza. Sinwar's leadership has been integral to Hamas' operations and its political maneuvers in the region.
