The Hamas movement said: In a dangerous precedent, it was surprised by the “Ethics Office” of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Refugees - UNRWA, issuing a document entitled “Code of Conduct” that includes a set of values, principles and standards of conduct.
She added in a statement: “Unfortunately, the Ethics Office at the UNRWA, instead of supporting the values of common sense and respect for the customs and traditions of our people and the teachings of our true religion, they invite our teachers and students to values of abnormality and moral deviation.”
She pointed out that the relief agency was established to care for and provide relief to Palestinian refugees until they return to their homes, and not to impose the values of other societies or pollute the minds of our students with corrupt values.
The UNRWA warned against continuing these steps, and we hold it fully responsible for any negative repercussions of these instructions, and we demand that it withdraw all the offensive leaflets that were distributed and never repeat this in the future.
I assured the agency’s management that our people, with all their political, societal and religious components, will not allow these plans to be passed to dilute the values of society, and we consider that the values of virtue and chastity that our people enjoy are an integral part of our battle with the occupation for freedom, independence and return
