Beirut: Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri recently hosted a series of significant meetings at Beit Al-Wasat, engaging with both religious leaders and international diplomats.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the day commenced with Hariri receiving the Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Abdul Latif Derian, who led a delegation of regional Muftis, Sharia judges, imams, and heads of endowment departments. The discussions highlighted the critical moments Lebanon has faced, with Hariri commending the wisdom and moderation displayed by the religious scholars.
The meeting with the Grand Mufti and his delegation was preceded by a private discussion between Hariri and Mufti Derian that included Bahia Hariri. They explored the general situation and recent developments in Lebanon. This was followed by a meeting with the Russian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alexander Rudakov. The conversation focused on the internal political situation and recent achievements in the country, with Rudakov describing the meeting as useful and cordial.
Hariri's engagements continued with a meeting with the United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert. The discussions, attended by Mrs. Hariri and advisors Dr. Ghattas Khoury and Hani Hammoud, reportedly touched upon the latest local and regional developments affecting Lebanon.
Additionally, Hariri met with the Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa. The ambassador noted that the discussions centered around Lebanese affairs and the country's transition into the next stage, emphasizing Hariri's optimistic outlook regarding Lebanon's future. Hariri also engaged with Indian Ambassador to Lebanon, Muhammad Noor Rahman Sheikh, who expressed India's wishes for peace, prosperity, and sovereignty for Lebanon.
