Beirut: Hezbollah emphasized Lebanon's legitimate right to defend its territory and resist occupation, while fully rejecting any form of subordination and external dictates on the 82nd anniversary of the country's independence.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the resistance group's Media Relations released a statement calling for the enforcement of the ceasefire agreement and Resolution 1701 against the Israeli enemy. The statement highlighted the challenges Lebanon faces, including Israeli aggression and US sanctions, during a sensitive period for the region.
Hezbollah praised the sacrifices made by the Lebanese people for independence. The group acknowledged the countless martyrs and sacrifices in the struggle for independence, emphasizing the importance of unity, solidarity, and resistance in transforming national independence into a unifying occasion for all Lebanese factions.
The statement stressed that maintaining independence, amidst regional threats, is the responsibility of all Lebanese and requires a spirit of resistance. Hezbollah underscored the importance of upholding the equations that led to independence and defeated various threats over the years.
The Lebanese resistance group called for strengthening national unity and cooperation among all Lebanese, regardless of affiliations, as essential pillars for confronting aggression and preserving Lebanon's independence. Hezbollah urged the rejection of any form of subordination, emphasizing that independence can only be achieved by confronting external projects.
Hezbollah demanded that Lebanon's strengths be upheld to preserve national rights and called for immediate efforts to enforce the ceasefire agreement and Resolution 1701. The group also urged the Lebanese State to pressure guarantor states to compel the Israeli enemy to cease aggression and end the occupation.
