Hospital Appeals for International Intervention as Gaza Healthcare System Collapses

JABALIA: Kamal Adwan Hospital in the Jabalia camp has issued an urgent plea to the international community to intervene as the healthcare system in northern Gaza collapses under an 18-day siege by Israeli forces. The hospital, overwhelmed by casualties and lacking essential supplies, warns that the situation has reached catastrophic levels.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Hossam Abu Safia, director of Kamal Adwan Hospital, described the dire conditions, stating, “Blood is flowing everywhere,” as quadcopter drones continue to fire and demand the evacuation of the hospital amidst ongoing conflict. The hospital faces a severe shortage of blood, equipment, electricity, and medical personnel while serving more than 130 wounded individuals, including 14 on ventilators.

Dr. Abu Safia painted a grim picture of the scene outside the hospital, with numerous injured individuals unable to be transported due to ongoing shelling by Israeli forces. Despite provisions for safe passage, the director reported that displ
aced families were targeted in the streets, further exacerbating the crisis. He called for global support to bolster the faltering health system.

The Israeli military has reportedly blocked the International Red Cross from delivering crucial medical aid and equipment needed to sustain hospital operations in northern Gaza. Additionally, restrictions have been placed on food supplies entering the region, intensifying the humanitarian crisis.
