Beirut: Minister of Industry, Joe Issa El-Khoury, on Wednesday met with Minister of Finance, Yassine Jaber, to discuss mechanisms to activate the Lebanese Accreditation Council (COLIBAC), which oversees compliance with technical standards and requirements in both public and private laboratories. The council also monitors quality management accreditation bodies and regulates the issuance of conformity certificates and marks. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the two ministers also discussed the Ministry of Industry's budget, with Issa El-Khoury stressing the need to increase it in order to implement vital projects that support the productive sector. Additionally, they explored the strategic importance of establishing new, specialized industrial zones. Minister Issa El-Khoury presented his vision for creating Mini Industrial Zones across multiple regions in Lebanon. He praised the ongoing study by the Ministry of Finance aimed at allocating state-owned land to help bring this initiative to fruition .
