Beirut: Prime Minister Nawaf Salam on Wednesday chaired a meeting of the Higher Privatization Council, which was attended by Ministers Yassine Jaber, Amer Al-Bisat, Adel Nassar, Mohammad Haidar, and the Secretary-General of the Cabinet, Judge Mahmoud Makieh. Finance Minister Yassine Jaber stated that the discussions during the meeting focused on new privatization projects, potential amendments to the public-private partnership (PPP) law, and a proposal concerning Qlayaat Airport.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Prime Minister Salam also held a meeting with Member of Parliament Ashraf Rifi and the families of the victims of the North Lebanon 'death boat' tragedy. MP Rifi emphasized the need for justice and compensation for the families affected by the incident. In addition, lawyer Mohammad Sabbouh presented new evidence related to the tragedy and called for serious judicial action. Prime Minister Salam assured the families and officials that he would follow up on the matter diligently.
