Manama: During a panel discussion at the Manama Dialogue Forum in Bahrain, Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar addressed key issues surrounding Lebanon's state authority and reconstruction efforts.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Al-Hajjar highlighted Lebanon's commitment to extending state authority across its entire territory through its own forces. He underscored the pivotal role of the Lebanese Army in this endeavor, supported by the government to implement its plans. The minister pointed out that the ceasefire arrangements were not respected by the Israeli side.
Al-Hajjar stressed that reconstruction is a priority for the Lebanese state, emphasizing its importance in restoring citizens' trust in their government. He noted that reconstruction efforts should not be conditional and represent a fundamental step towards national recovery.
The Interior Minister reiterated that Lebanese legitimate forces, particularly the Army and the Internal Security Forces, are responsible for defending the nation and maintaining security and order. He called for support to these institutions to ensure they can fully establish stability in the country.
