Tripoli: Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmed al-Hajjar arrived at the Tripoli Serail this afternoon, where he held an extensive meeting to discuss the repercussions of the building collapse in the al-Qubbah area of the city, in addition to buildings that are about to collapse and ways to find speedy solutions in this respect.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the meeting was attended by Acting North Governor Iman al-Rafei, Tripoli Mayor Abdul Hamid Karima, Higher Relief Commission Head Brigadier General Bassam al-Nabulsi, Acting Director General of Civil Defense Brigadier General Imad Khreish, North Engineers Syndicate Head Shawki Fatfat, North Governorate Department Head Ruba al-Shafshak, and senior officers within the Governorate.
Al-Hajjar affirmed that his presence in Tripoli today is to “assure its residents that the state stands with them and will not abandon them,” stressing that this matter “is being pursued with the utmost seriousness and responsibility.”
