Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Chairs Meeting of Top Officers to Examine Security.

KUWAIT CITY: The First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah headed a meeting of the assistant undersecretaries to discuss organizing traffic in the governorates. According to Kuwait News Agency, the Ministry of Interior, in a statement, quoted the minister as calling during the session for exerting further efforts, intensifying follow-up, and enhancing the effective and continuous presence of personnel at public places to strengthen security throughout the country. He emphasized the necessity of promptly and firmly handling issues, applying laws uniformly, increasing traffic awareness campaigns, and ensuring adherence to traffic laws. He also commended the efforts of the ministry's divisions in preserving homeland security and instructed senior officers to activate measures to confront any offenses. The statement indicated that the minister was briefed during the session about the intensive campaigns against those violating residency and work laws. The off icers also discussed various other issues, means of combating all forms of crimes, and setting the priorities of security tasks in the foreseeable future. The session was attended by the Undersecretary, (Lieut. Gen.) Sheikh Salem Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
