Beirut: The Lebanese Interior Ministry has received a total of 174 complaints, including 149 administrative, 19 media-related, and six security-related cases, with the start of the municipal and mukhtar elections in northern Lebanon. Most of the complaints originated from the districts of Akkar and Tripoli. Authorities confirmed that the issues are currently being addressed.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the breakdown of complaints highlights the administrative challenges faced during the election period, with a significant proportion of issues being administrative in nature. The media-related and security-related complaints, although fewer, also indicate areas of concern for the authorities.
The Interior Ministry is actively working to resolve these complaints promptly to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections. The focus is on addressing the administrative issues swiftly to prevent any disruption in the electoral process. The ministry assures that all complaints, irrespective of their nature, are being handled with due diligence to maintain the integrity of the elections.
