The Iranian government declared on Saturday that all banks and public departments would be shut on Sunday due to the extremely high heat. The government website said due to the unprecedented soaring temperature, all government institutions and banks would be closed tomorrow, exempting service and relief facilities. On Friday, it declared cutting short work hours in the public sector to be from 6 a.m. until 10 a.m. to spare personnel the scorching heat.
