Iran to Engage in Discussions with Qatar Over Frozen Assets

Iran: Iran will hold talks with mediator Qatar on Wednesday regarding its frozen assets, the Iranian foreign ministry said, denying that any meeting with the United States was planned in the Gulf state, where delegations from both sides were expected.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussions are set to focus on the execution of the memorandum of understanding, particularly concerning the release of Iran's restricted assets. Foreign ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei highlighted that these discussions will strictly involve the Qatari side, dismissing any speculation about a direct meeting with the United States.

Baqaei's comments were made during a weekly press conference, where he underscored the importance of the talks in Doha, which are anticipated to take place imminently. The Iranian official emphasized the role of Qatar as a mediator in facilitating the dialogue aimed at addressing the financial constraints imposed on Iran due to its frozen assets.
