Kuwait city: The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has declared that it launched missiles and drones targeting the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, along with other US military installations across the region. This announcement was made as part of "Announcement No. 2" following the initiation of Operation True Promise 4.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the operation was conducted in retaliation to what it described as American-Zionist aggression against Iranian territory. In their statement, the IRGC elaborated on their actions, stating that the first phase of Operation Promise of Truth 4 involved extensive attacks by Iran's Armed Forces on regional targets deemed as aggressors.
"The IRGC's missiles and drones targeted the headquarters of the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain, other US bases in Qatar and the UAE, as well as military and security centers in the heart of the occupied territories," the statement further explained.
The IRGC has indicated that these operations are ongoing, with missile and drone attacks continuing as part of their response strategy. They noted that additional information about the operations would be provided at a later stage.
This announcement is part of a broader regional confrontation that has been intensifying, especially following joint US-"Israeli" military actions against Iran, which included strikes on sites in Tehran and other cities. While Israeli officials have described these strikes as pre-emptive, Iranian authorities have condemned them as a violation of Iranian sovereignty.
In retaliation, Iran has launched multiple waves of ballistic missiles toward "Israel," with targets in the occupied Palestinian territories, including Haifa and Tel Aviv. These developments have led to disruptions in regional airspace, with several countries either suspending flights or implementing emergency measures due to fears of further escalation.
