After five days of military confrontation, the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement and the Israeli occupation government reached a lull agreement mediated by Egypt on Saturday.
“The armistice agreement stipulates the immediate halting of attacks on civilians, houses and individuals,” head of the political circle of the Islamic Jihad Movement Mohammad Al-Hendi told reporters.
Al-Hendi added that the agreement entered into force at 10:00 p.m. GMT Friday.
The Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip since Tuesday left 33 Palestinians dead, 30 percent of them children and women, and 150 others injured in addition to the demolition of scores of Palestinian houses in the densely-populated territory.
