Gaza: Eleven individuals were killed and several others wounded in Israeli airstrikes on the Nuseirat and Jabalia refugee camps in the Gaza Strip on Saturday evening. These attacks are part of a broader offensive that has been ongoing since October 7, 2023.
According to Maan News Agency, medical sources indicated that seven people died and others were injured in a bombing at a residence in the Nuseirat camp, located in the central Gaza Strip. Additionally, four fatalities and multiple injuries occurred in the Jabalia camp in the northern region of the Strip. The medical sources also noted that the casualty figures might rise as several injured individuals were in critical condition.
Further reports from local sources highlighted the Israeli forces’ efforts to isolate Gaza City from the northern parts of the Gaza Strip. They have reportedly been installing earthen barriers on main roads, a move that suggests a strategic division in response to the ongoing ground aggression which has entered its eighth day.
The same sources reported the use of explosive “robots” by Israeli forces, which resulted in the destruction of numerous homes in the Jabalia camp and left many dead or wounded.
The ongoing conflict, involving land, sea, and air strikes by Israeli forces, has led to significant casualties. Since October 7, 2023, a total of 42,175 individuals have been reported killed and 98,336 injured, with a substantial portion of these casualties being children and women. The figures remain preliminary, with thousands still missing under the rubble.
