Israeli Airstrikes Result in 12 Fatalities in Gaza, Health Ministry Reports

Gaza city: Israeli airstrikes in Gaza have resulted in the death of at least 12 people, as reported by the Palestinian health ministry. Children are said to be among the casualties in this recent incident, which has disrupted a fragile ceasefire in the region.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, one of the airstrikes targeted an apartment in Gaza City, resulting in the deaths of three children and two women. A family member and the official Palestinian news agency WAFA confirmed this attack. Another airstrike reportedly struck a tent in Khan Younis, located further south, as per WAFA’s reports.

The Israeli military stated that it is investigating the report but has not yet confirmed whether it conducted the airstrikes in the area. Video footage from the scene showed significant damage, with charred, blackened, and destroyed walls in an apartment within a multi-storey building, and debris strewn both inside and outside the building on the streets of Gaza City.

Samer al-Atbash, a relative of the victims, expressed his grief and frustration, stating, “We found my three little nieces in the street, they say ceasefire and all, what did those children do, what did we do?”

Since a U.S.-brokered truce between the Palestinian militant group Hamas and Israel took effect in October after two years of conflict, Israeli fire has resulted in the deaths of more than 500 people, most of whom are civilians, according to Gaza health officials.
