Tehran: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian delivered a speech marking the “Ten Days of Fajr,” the period leading up to the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, in which he warned that “the enemy is seeking to turn protests into a civil war” in Iran.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Pezeshkian accused U.S. President Donald Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and European countries of “arming certain individuals” during the recent developments. He said, “Everyone knows that Trump, Netanyahu, and the Europeans armed individuals during the recent events.”
He added that in social protests, weapons are not carried, military forces are not targeted, and ambulances or markets are not set on fire, stressing that the enemy is working to transform protests into a civil war.
On the other hand, the Iranian president affirmed his government’s readiness for dialogue, saying it is their duty to listen to protesters’ demands and concerns and work to address them, adding that the government is prepared to listen, according to “Russia Today”.
